Setting Learning Goals

Being able to set goals and develop a learning plan are basic skills for effective selfdirected learning.

This assignment will help you develop these skills in preparation for your TMA01 assignment.

For this assignment, you will identify your learning goal and design the first draft of your learning plan.

This assignment has one question divided in two parts.

Note: This assignment is not your final learning plan. It is the first step in identifying and planning your goal. It can be modified as you progress.

Question 1

Part I: Your Learner Profile

Your learner profile provides a snapshot of where you are at the beginning of this course. By taking stock of your strengths and weaknesses, you can be intentional about growing as a self-directed learner.

Awareness of your metacognitive strengths can help you:

(3) select appropriate resources and strategies to make learning more efficient, effective, and enjoyable

Awareness of your mindset can help you:

(1) take on challenges

(2) learn from criticism

(3) bounce back from setbacks in your learning journey

Complete the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) and Mindset Questionnaire on the L/LG-page under “Modules”.

Instructions:

i. Download and complete the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire.

ii. Select one strength and one weakness from the MAI questionnaire based on the spreadsheet calculation.
