In this assignment, you are reintroduced to the THS case study, which was used in the HIA610 course. You will use this case study for this assignment and for the final presentation in this course. In the Transformative Health System (THS) case study, a community health system is in a state of transformation. Shifting from inpatient care toward ambulatory, home, and virtual care. In this assignment, you will begin analyzing the future needs of the Transformative Health System. This includes exploring strategies to enhance their existing clinical data repository and develop a data warehouse. Also, consider how modern business intelligence (BI) applications support executive decisionmaking.
In your paper,
• Explain the current clinical repository’s role in the THS strategy.
• Propose three to five types of transactional database (source) systems that the THS currently uses that it should add to the existing clinical repository to support the expansion of its data warehouse strategy.
• Describe at least three to five key data elements (basic unit of information) that are critical in each of the source systems you are proposing for expanding the THS data warehouse strategy.
• Explain the nine documentation elements for a data dictionary for one of the data elements that you propose adding to the data warehouse. o Refer to the following section in your course text: Section 5.8.1: Documenting the Data Elements (data element name or label, alias, type in length of data field, default values, acceptable values, source system considerations, security considerations, responsible users in the description and comments)
